In my 30s, wellness looks different today than it did in my 20s… It’s less comparison and appearance-based and more focusing on what works for me, my body, and my real life.

Perfection is no longer the aim — I’m focusing instead on daily shifts that help me feel calm, strong, and deeply nourished.

These are the current habits I’m embracing and how you can make these rituals your own:

Exercising in ways I love.

I used to exercise to punish my body. Now I exercise for my mental health, joy, and mood. In my 30s, I’m focusing on strength training for mobility, longevity, and metabolic health.

Try: Start incorporating resistance and strength training — especially for women 30+! This is so important for our bone density, balance, and long-term health as we age.

You don’t have to overdo it or start lifting heavy. Move in a way that supports you, not stresses you.

Social media boundaries.

Less time online is a luxury. I wish I started my social media boundaries earlier. I only allow two windows where I am online and disconnect completely when I am on holidays where possible.

Try: Giving yourself social media free mornings and nights. Swap checking your phone first thing in the morning for natural sunlight exposure and unplugging one hour before bed to support your natural circadian rhythm.

Finding ways to calm down my nervous system each day.

No more relying on caffeine alone and constantly hustling. Now I focus on breathwork, evening walks to decompress, daily triple-form Advanced Magnesium+ ritual, and prioritizing early nights.

I also try to keep one day each week less scheduled. My sister calls it “No Plans Sunday,” and it’s become one of my favorite well-being habits for truly recharging.

Try: Slowing down where you can and not overbooking yourself. Try “No Plans Sunday” this week and see how you feel!

Bonus tip: If you want to support nervous system health from the inside out, Advanced Magnesium+ is your daily dose of calm.*

Not weighing myself and counting calories.

Nourishing my body and my relationship with food is more important than any numerical value. Throw out the scales and enjoy the freedom to eat what you love without guilt. I focus on what I can add into my diet to nourish my body, rather than what I can remove.

Try: Build your plate with protein, complex carbs, healthy fats, and fiber-rich plants. If you don’t know where to start, explore classic and new JSHealth recipes.

Then, allow space for joy and indulgence. The pasta, gelato, birthday dinner — it all has a place.

Letting go of people-pleasing.

I used to really struggle with people-pleasing and pressure. Today, I’m saying no more and YES to things that genuinely feel good.

Try: Pausing before you say yes or commit. Remember, our energy is expensive. Being careful with who and where we give it will really make a huge difference to how you feel day to day.

Less alcohol where possible.

As much as I love a glass of wine every now and then, I’m enjoying a period of drinking less lately.

Alcohol can actually disrupt sleep quality and reduce REM sleep (meaning you’re sleeping more lightly and waking more often). I’m feeling and sleeping SO much better!

Try: Drinking less and seeing how your sleep quality changes. Experiment with what amount of time feels best for you — a weekend, week, month — and go from there.

Remember, there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to health, only your version of balance. As we grow and evolve, our wellness routines can change with us.

With love,
